15 Ways to Relieve Wedding Season Stress

May 14, 2013

If you're planning or involved in a wedding, you probably know all too well how stressful wedding season can be. Here are some tips to help you deal with the stress as the big day approaches.

1. Exercise.

Working out is a great way to relieve stress, and it will also help you to look great on the big day. You can devote your workout time to doing any kind of physical activity you enjoy, whether it's dancing, walking in the park, or playing with your kids.

2. Talk about it.

Sometimes just venting to a close family member or loved one will help. Sharing your stress verbally with others - "letting it out" - can relieve stress.

3. Confront your fears.

If you're stressing about the possibility of some kind of catastrophe, face the fact that it could happen. Realize that even if the worst does occur, it won't be the end of the world. Sometimes recognizing this can help eliminate some stress.

4. Listen to some relaxing music.

Whether you're a fan of oldies, heavy metal, pop, or country, you can unwind with some of your favorite music to take your mind off of the stress associated with an upcoming wedding.

5. Get a good night's sleep.

One great way to relieve stress is to get a good night's sleep each night (or at least as often as possible). Make sure you are giving yourself enough time to sleep, so you can wake up each day feeling well rested and ready to take on the day.

6. Get the Twovet to help you get a good night's sleep.

The Twovet is a unique duvet that features both a thick and thin side, so you can enjoy either a cool or warm night's sleep, depending on your preference. The Twovet is perfect for couples who have different sleeping preferences.

7. Take a mini vacation.

If you need to get away but don't have the funds or time, take a mini vacation by going to the park, your favorite store, or even just to the library.

8. Take part in a favorite hobby.

Spend some time doing something that you enjoy. Engaging in a hobby can focus some of your energy away from the stressful event.

9. Play a game.

Take some time to play a simple computer game or even a board game. Allow yourself to have a little fun and forget your responsibilities for a while.

10. Give yourself a break.

Take a day off from thinking about the wedding and just enjoy yourself.

11. Have some fun with the wedding planning.

Get together with others who are involved in the wedding for some fun. Watch a movie, have a barbecue, or share some other fun activity with the wedding party.

12. Clean.

Being in a cluttered or dirty environment can affect the way you're feeling. Take a short break to clean up and de-clutter, and it can instantly improve your mood.

13. Get organized.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, try to create or prioritize your to-do list. It can help to sort out what needs to be done immediately, and what can wait.

14. Ask for help.

If you need help with something, don't be afraid to ask others. It can take some of the stress off of yourself, and others are often happy to help.

15. Don't forget that weddings are about love and fun.

A wedding is a celebration. Don't get too caught up in the details to remember that everyone involved should enjoy themselves.
