7 Fun Ideas for Valentine's Day
1. TAKE A RANDOM DRIVE
If it's been a while since you've done something spontaneous, hop in the car and take a drive - with no destination! In this world, we are frequently rushing around always trying to accomplish something. Slow down and go for a drive on a road that you've never been on before.
2. RECREATE YOUR FAVORITE DATE
Think about your favorite restaurant (and favorite meal). Is this something that you can re-create at home? Many couples have been going out less during COVID. Try your best at copying your favorite meal!
3. SPEND A NIGHT AT A FANCY HOTEL
Are you sick of being a home body and need a change of scenery? Why not checkout a local hotel? Instead of visiting an "average" hotel, splurge on the closest 4 or 5 star hotel. Treat yourself - you deserve it!
4. GO ICE SKATING
If you live in a cold climate, go skating at your local pond (assuming it is safe). If not, checkout your local arena / ice rink. Many of these places offer public skating at a reasonable price. Not good at skating? No problem - show how vulnerable you are!
5. COOK TOGETHER
Instead of rushing to make a meal, why not carve out an hour or two to prepare a meal together? If you are like most couples, you probably can't remember the last time you cooked together...Slow down and enjoy the process of working together. For a bonus, crack a bottle of wine!
6. BINGE NETFLIX TOGETHER
You probably watch different TV shows / movies. What if you took the time to pick a TV series or movie that you both liked? Instead of fighting over the remote or TV show, grab some snacks and spend some time in front of the TV together (without feeling guilty)!
7. HAVE A GAME NIGHT
When you were younger, was there a specific game that you liked to play together? Maybe it was cribbage or Boggle (to name a few). If you can, carve out an hour or two to put the phone away and play a few games together.
Whatever you decide to do for Valentine's Day, we hope you slow down and enjoy your time together. We frequently rush through our day without pausing to enjoy our time together. Slow down - even for a few hours - and enjoy each other!
Happy Valentine's Day!
