7 Ideas for a Romantic Night After a Stressful Day at Work

After a long stressful day at the office, there's no better way to unwind than to go home and create a little bit of romance. Forget about your sales report deadlines, and instead concentrate about snuggling up with your sweetie in your warm and cozy bed. Here are 7 quick and easy tips to create romance even after a tough day at work.

1. Serve a Spiced up Dinner

Start your romantic evening with a special dinner. Instead of your typical week night pot roast, or roasted chicken breast, kick your dinner up a notch by experimenting with exotic spices and flavors. Step outside your comfort zone by serving North African spiced flank steak or coconut curry stew, or take an adventure with a new robust bottle of wine. If cooking seems too tiring for the moment, order takeout from your favorite place, and transfer it to formal serving dishes.

2. Chocolate for Dessert

Few things in life are as deeply luxurious or intriguing as the bitter and sweet balance and velvety texture of chocolate. Consider getting physical with dessert by omitting your fork and spoon and using your hands instead. For a quick chocolate fix, find your favorite fair trade chocolate bar at the grocery store, and melt it in the microwave. Serve alongside fresh cut organic fruits for a quick and easy chocolate fondue.

3. Bubbly in the Bubble Bath

After dinner and dessert, continue your romantic adventure by escaping to the relaxing tranquility of a warm bubble bath with a chilled bottle of your favorite bubbly champagne or sparkling wine. Set the mood by lighting some lightly scented soy candles around your bathroom. If you have an outdoor Jacuzzi, decorate the area with paper lanterns or a few twinkling Christmas lights. Put your iPod on a romantic playlist or stream one from the internet in the background.

4. Moisturize with a Massage

After enjoying your bath together, dry off with some warm plush towels and moisturize each other's dry skin by taking turns applying lotion or massage oil to one another. Scented all natural or organic massage oils and lotions can easily be found at most natural foods stores, or on specialty stores online. These oils can be gently warmed by placing in the microwave, or heating over a candle to enhance the therapeutic effects.

5. Get Satin Sheets

Replace your wrinkled linens with new satin sheets. The satin will feel silky smooth against you and your partner's bare skin as the two of you glide across your bedding in a tight embrace. Many stores now offer organic satin for purchase in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

6. Sexy Pajamas

Surprise your partner with a new pair of pajamas. Consider investing in a silk nightgown with lace detailing for yourself and a pair of silk or satin boxers or pajama pants for your man. Save them for special occasions, or to celebrate romantic milestones.

7. Cuddle up to a Romantic Movie

As the two of you wind down for the night, enjoy falling asleep together while watching a romantic movie. Consider classic black and white movies that are oldies but still goodies. Keep a bucket of ice with some chilled champagne within reach and toast one another to more romance and excitement in the future.

Enjoy your romantic evening with your loved one and remember to let the day to day stress go while you enjoy each other's company.
